چکیده
Abstract Background Biochar ozonization was previously shown to dramatically increase its cation exchange capacity, thus improving nutrient retention capacity. The potential soil application of ozonized biochar warrants the need for a toxicity study that investigates effects on microorganisms. Results In presented here, we found filtrates collected from pine 400 and rogue did not have any inhibitory environmental bacteria Pseudomonas putida, even at high dissolved organic carbon (DOC) concentrations 300 ppm. However, growth Synechococcus elongatus PCC 7942 inhibited by DOC greater than 75 Further tests showed presence some compounds (terephthalic acid p -toluic acid) in filtrate non-ozonized biochar; these were greatly reduced upon wet-ozonization material. Nutrient detection also dry-ozonization enhanced availability nitrate phosphate filtrate, property may be desirable application. Conclusion Ozonized substances can support bacterium putida growth, since detoxifies aromatic molecules. Graphical

Engineering Synechococcus elongatus PCC 7942 for continuous growth under diurnal conditions.
Synechococcus elongatus strain PCC 7942 strictly depends upon the generation of photosynthetically derived energy for growth and is incapable of biomass increase in the absence of light energy. Obligate phototrophs' core metabolism is very similar to that of heterotrophic counterparts exhibiting diverse trophic behavior. Most characterized cyanobacterial species are obligate photoautotrophs und...
متن کاملSpatial and Temporal Organization of Chromosome Duplication and Segregation in the Cyanobacterium Synechococcus elongatus PCC 7942
The spatial and temporal control of chromosome duplication and segregation is crucial for proper cell division. While this process is well studied in eukaryotic and some prokaryotic organisms, relatively little is known about it in prokaryotic polyploids such as Synechococcus elongatus PCC 7942, which is known to possess one to eight copies of its single chromosome. Using a fluorescent represso...
متن کاملFunctional elements of the strong psbAI promoter of Synechococcus elongatus PCC 7942.
The psbAI gene of the cyanobacterium Synechococcus elongatus PCC 7942 is one of three psbA genes that encode a critical photosystem II reaction center protein, D1. Regulation of the gene family in response to changes in the light environment is complex, occurs at transcriptional and posttranscriptional levels, and results in an interchange of two different forms of D1 in the membrane. Expressio...
متن کاملMetabolic and transcriptomic phenotyping of inorganic carbon acclimation in the Cyanobacterium Synechococcus elongatus PCC 7942.
The amount of inorganic carbon is one of the main limiting environmental factors for photosynthetic organisms such as cyanobacteria. Using Synechococcus elongatus PCC 7942, we characterized metabolic and transcriptomic changes in cells that had been shifted from high to low CO(2) levels. Metabolic phenotyping indicated an activation of glycolysis, the oxidative pentose phosphate cycle, and glyc...
متن کاملIsolation, Purification and Characterization of Nucleoids from Synechococcus elongatus PCC 7942
The genomic DNA of bacteria is highly compacted in one or a few bodies known as nucleoids. In order to understand the overall configuration and physiological activities of the cyanobacterial nucleoid under various growth conditions and the role(s) of each nucleoid protein in clock function, thylakoid membrane-associated nucleoids from the Synechococcus elongatus (se) PCC 7942 strain were isolat...
